Who are we?

What personal data do we hold & why?
Whenever you provide personal information, it is governed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (GDPR). The information has to be collected and used fairly, and you should know what it is being used for, by whom, and why.
As an IT Services company, we administer networks, storage, and computer applications on behalf of our clients. We don’t interact with this data, our clients do (the ones that you gave your data to yourself, and have a relationship with). GDPR calls our clients ‘Data Controllers’ and we are their ‘Data Processors’ and we both have a responsibility to you to make sure that your data is securely stored, correctly and fairly used.
Any personal information that we hold, is held under the same legal basis and terms as the ‘Controller’ that you gave it to. It remains under their control, and is only ‘processed’ at their explicit instruction. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as they use our services, or until such time as your data has served its purpose (again in accordance with what was agreed with them when your data was collected).
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure and, in order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Who do we share your personal data with?
ABS operate their business from two locations – our head office in Farnborough, UK, and our subsidiary office in Goa, India (both addresses and company details are on our website). Your data will always be stored in the UK, and will not leave it, but sometimes technical staff in our Goa office may have remote access to it. Barring legal obligation, we will not share or disclose your data with any other third party without first obtaining your consent.
Further Information and Exercising Your Rights
This Privacy Notice, as well as our full Data Protection Policy are available on request. You can also find more information on your rights at the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk
You may request details of your personal information which we hold about you, a copy of that information electronically, and you can make a request for us to delete any of your data that we are not legally obligated to keep. We would suggest that in the first instance you should approach the ‘Data Controller’ (ie: the one you gave your data to in the first place), but if you choose to contact us, then we will do all that we can to fulfil your request, and notify them on your behalf. We obviously may not have access to all the information that you shared with the ‘Controller’ only what they have stored on our systems.
